Powered up, a specific voltage is loaded across the glass and film or film on film. When the screen is touched by a finger or stylus, the ITO coated film and glass is electrically ‘shorted’ at the point where they touch. The controller senses this voltage change in both the X and Y axis and sends a signal to the device which recognises the location at which the screen has been touched.
