Captec - Katana 150 Panel

When Captec, one of Europe’s largest and longest established manufacturer, distributor and integrator of Industrial Computers wanted to integrate a resistive touch screen onto their control panel they chose WASP (Wessex Advanced Switching Products) to help with the design.

This partnership of two ISO 9001: 2000 certified companies, with superior design capabilities, worked together to find the correct solution. Captec were developing the ‘Katana 150’ Industrial Terminal HMI (Human Machine Interface) which incorporated a membrane QWERTY keyboard and an integrated touch screen mounted on a 3 mm glass panel, providing a seamless, fully sealed and rugged appearance. This gave the robustness required to be used in industrial control environments. The integration of the touch screen into an existing membrane design minimised costs and the time to market.

WASP were able to help Captec because of their experience in membrane and touch screen manufacture together with their design capability to find the correct solution to Captec’s requirements.
