WASP use wireless technology on their new cordless touchscreen seat / suite control unit
Touchscreen Seat Control

Wessex Advanced Switching Products (WASP), the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of aircraft passenger seat / suite controls will be launching their new cordless Graphic User Interface (GUI) at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg (Stand 5A35).

Operated by means of wireless technology, the GUI enables both airlines and passengers to choose the on-board services they require while providing the complete freedom of cordless use. It is as easy to use as a domestic TV remote.

An enhancement of their original ‘corded’ GUI, the WASP unit is essentially a sophisticated control pad housed in an ergonomic case with a large, clear, touch activated screen. The GUI can be programmed to provide virtually any in-flight service in addition to seat / suite controls, such as duty free shopping, games, internet access, destination guides, visual/audio entertainment or any other requirement to suit the airline.

The GUI, which can be finished in colours to match the airline’s livery, is an easily customised solution which WASP can program according to each customer’s individual requirements, after which it will be qualified ready to integrate with minimal fuss. WASP offers qualification of all of its passenger control units to Boeing and Airbus standards including RTCA DO-160, D6-36440 and ABD0100 amongst others. WASP has ISO9001:2008 accreditation.
